Missouri Lake Products offers three types of shock-absorbing cable springs for floating boat docks: Light Duty Variable-Rate (20), Heavy Duty Variable-Rate (40), and Super Heavy Duty Constant (60). Variable-Rate springs change resistance as they compress and become progressively stiffer as the load increases. Each spring is attached to a transport chain at the dock and the cable connects to an easily adjustable 7/8 x 18” Eye & Eye Turnbuckle, with a safety cable at the shore, keeping your cables out of the water, minimizing rust. The spring compresses and decompresses, acting as a brake, taking the “shock” out of the cable as it tightens quickly in wind, storms, or high wakes.Cable Shocks increase protection against structural damage, are designed to keep both sides of the cable at the same tension and not allow the dock to sway side to side.
